Aux Belt

  TTRS & V50
Well the time has come to get the cam and aux belt changed, along with a service, i rang up renault and quoted me 139 + vat for the cambelt kit and 110 + vat for the aux kit.

I can get trade prices through work so im going to do it this way as its cheaper than paying renault an arm and a leg.

Just one question i know i need a cambelt kit, but do i need the aux belt kit or just the aux belt.

As there's a differnece of a 100 quid, and i was wondering if places like GDI, Angelworks, Renault etc, use the aux kit or just the belt !?

Thanks

Lou

I think the AUX belt kit includes the pulleys and tensioners if I'm right in thinking.

you only need the aux belt kit if there's actually a problem with yours. I know a few people have seen them need replacing, but I'm yet to see one and I've done quite a lot now (changed 2 aux belts just today) We (GDI) always use a full renault cambelt kit to protect warranties. If you're doing the work yourself and the car has no warranty I'd say go for a gates cambelt kit and aux belt. Gates make the kits for renault.

Ok Thanks alot. Turns out i cant get the labour for much under 220 cash, so im going to book it in at angelworks as they know what they are doing.
