Auxillary fuel pump

As an update to my breaking the hose connection off mine the other day. I am currently carless. Is the pump necessary or could it be bridged out just using a piece of hose? As the main fuel pump will still be working obviously. Anybody know? This may just be a short term solution if it is possible so that I can drive my car.

Yep it can be removed just hole it up and ensure you kep the tank filled up realy.
