AVG slowness. Alternative!

Basic shatment. I've used AVG free for the past 6-8 years and never had a problem. The latest 2011 version is appaling. Slowed down everything on my laptop and won't update itself.

I'm binning it until they can do something that works. What is the best free alternative?

Best ive used for using hardlu any system resources is Nod32.

Been using it for about 3 years and its been perfect. Runs very well and quickly on netbooks too

I've put Avast on mine, and work machines.

Better than AVG going by some review sites I looked at.
