Ayone Use Fuel/Injector Cleaner

Anyone ever use any of the fuel system, injector cleaner stuff you get from halfords, ie STP, Wynns, Redex or any of the octane booster products eg Nitro which also have cleaning agents

Yeah, I keep on meaning to try it but you have to run the tank right down to nothing for it to work propery. Ive heard a that all it does is increases the octane so it idles quicker/burns richer but doesnt really improve anything other than gives it abit of a grunt.

ran redex injector cleaner bottles (99p per bottle, per full tank) through over about 2 months. (5 full tanks)

on a long run i noticed i got about 40 miles more to a half tank so i think it improves fuel economy. was doing crazy things like 210 miles just after half a tank and previously the best has been 170, normally less than that.

my car is 5 1/2 years old and is run on supermarket 95ron, so it doesnt suprise me that the fuel/injectors might be a bit skanked up.

i think you need to use it for some time before you can notice a difference, i cant notice difference in performance (no suprise ona 1.4) but certainly on economy.

I used the Forte Specialist Injector cleaner and the Forte Advanced Fuel System both together. They were £6 each from Ebay.

Seem to have done a reasonable job. Fuel economy is up slightly. No noticeable power increase but should all be fairly clean in there now.

Forte stuff is the best, its a lot stronger than what you can buy from a shop as its a trade only product

they DO work...they break down the waxy deposits left by our crap unleaded fuel....

decided to get the STP full fuel system cleaner in a full tank of shell optimax as got 24k service in a week and little time to source where to get forte from, been a tad idle over past 2-3 wks and not used optimax, really noticed the difference on a 50 mile run earlier, car just feels and runs smoother IMO, suppose STP cant do no harm, also run tank near empty too many times so gonna stop that habit, hoping STP clears the sh*t out !!

if it does work i think they take some time to have their effect! need to run a good amount of the stuff through to do its job!
