Baffled sump?

Hi guys

I plan on taking my 172 to knockhill next year and I’m wondering what these engines are like for oil starvation under hard cornering? I will be running Nankang AR1. Do we need to run a baffled sump?

any of you guys race there?

Not that i've heard of. There is a provision for it under our regs, but I m not aware of anyone who has bothered.

That’s awesome news man. What oil do you run? I’m on 5w40 now Renault stuff but unsure if I should go thicker

Don’t know of anyone who runs different oil spec. They’re tough engines, so many 1*2s out there being tracked but the engines take it just fine. Within reason

5w40 good enough then? I use the genuine Renault oil

Yeah just stock Renault stuff, was elf, now castrol. Rev the car to 7800 as well and it's got 197 cams and few other bits. 212bhp

It's an actual Clio as well, accept no substitutes.... well except for I substituted the running gear....flol
