BARC Dunlop Racing Festival - Donington

  172cup
... anyone going?

Just got two free vip suite tickets for it from a supplier... but never been before. Wondered if it was any good?

Re: BARC Dunlop Racing Festival - Donnington

Is it the Dunlop Great & British Race Package? If so then yep it's pretty cool (I'm going to the same thing at Castle Combe tomorrow), the Motorsport News Saloon Car Championship is pretty big, they've got a full 42 car grid at Castle Combe tomorrow (Combe has a high allowance due to its good safety record), everything from Sierra Cossies, Skylines, to 205s and R5s.

The various Mini races are also very good, just a shame about the Sport Maxx Cup, officially a BTCC feeder series but it's a bit poor now, nice line up of cars (Astra VXRs, Focus STs, Megane R26s and the odd 172) but very poor number of entries that barely scrape 12-15 at most events (12 at Combe tomorrow!), shame as the idea is a good one.

yeah thats the one mate

trying to find some info on it, but there's not much out there. Even on donningtons website, it doesnt tell you anything. There are hundreds of websites mentioning it, but none giving you in depth info, or selling it etc

oh... and what the hell is a vip suite ticket?

It is a shame about this series, from what I remember is it just road-legal cars, with cages and Dunlop Sport Maxx (road) tyres. The racing is fairly close - so good to watch!
