Bass speakers fitted in rear speakers enclosure

At the moment I've got an under-seat 4 channel amp and uprated front door speakers. I was thinking of getting an under-seat sub, but I just got an idea that maybe I could fit some small bass speakers behind the rear grills. Is there enough space back there for anything decent? Preferably something with an enclosure

There is loads of depth on the rear speakers. pop the covers off - youll see the little slot to put a screw driver to pop them off.

Oh.... but the rear cards arent that rigid so will probably vibrate and cause you problems.

There is a whole world of room behind the rear trim. You can even get right into the back corners of the arches pretty much.

My recommendation though would be the Alpine SWE 1200 under seat sub. I have the Alpine PWE-V80 and it is too big for under the front seat. The SWE-1200 fits perfectly. Personally I wouldn't opt for bass speakers in the rear. The panels will be a pain to stop vibrating a lot.

Some good threads on this:

I noticed how flimsy the panels were. I thought maybe there would be something more sturdy behind, that I could mount the speakers on maybe? I really need to have a good look in there. The underseat sub would probably be the easiest to install, but I've heard they're not all that powerful, so thought the twin rear set up might be better
