Battery Change On Remote Fob... DIY or DEALERSHIP job?



  1.2 16v Expression
Hi all I own a 51 plate Clio MK2 PH2, one of the remote central locking fobs the battery needs changing, went to change it at a lockmisths and they said its a dealership job as the key loses its progeramming?


is this the case? or can i just buy a battery myself and swap it around....

ye u can jut buy the battery.

but ther a strange battery size i think.
my local shop didnt recognise them.

lol, my dealer did mine for free, as i was struggling. but then again they do allsorts for free.

its easy, just slide it apart and put it in. just need to be brave and really shove it

go to parts dept at renault they'll change it for you but its easy

just get a house key or something like that and stick it thru the loop on the key and use it to lever the cover off, switch battery and slide it back on, job done.

Slide the cover off in the direction of the arrow , its a bit tough but does slide. Make sure the rubber bits inside are fitted snuggly to keep moisture out.
