Battery light coming on randomly when driving?

As above really, ever since I had to take the starter out and put it back in, the battery light has been coming on randomly when Im driving but not for very long normally :S whats this all about??

Sounds like the alternator is either on the way out or has a dodgy connection perhaps! :S

where abouts is the alternator, mine does the same but it flickers with the stop light at 2500rpms+
