Battery Light on

all of a sudden my battery light came on. when i rev hard the light goes out. checked to see if it was charging and had 14v at the battery. can anyone help? cheers

possible faulty battery, even if the car is charging does not mean the battery is ok!

best to switch the engineer off and check voltage of the battery! should be around the 12.2 mark, if its lower and falling then get the battery changed.

or if you have a AH battery tester see what AH (amp hour) is in the battery!

yeah had 12.2 at the battery while the engine was switched off. its a 2004 182. cheers

is the light on all the time when ticking over?

and if so at what revs does the car rev too when the light goes out?

na belt defo isnt slipping. 3000 revs when the light goes out.

probable faulty alternator? is it still in warranty if so get it down to renault from them to check!
