Battery Light

Ok, my battery light has started flickering on and off while im driving which im assuming will be down to my alternator, but this only started happening after i went over a speed hump a little too fast so could it possibly a loose connection or am i just best to play it safe and get a new alternator?

Cheers

the battery light is more to do with the alternator than the battery directly

one side of the light is connected to 12v ignition live and the other to the alternators diode pack

when the alternator is not producing any charge the diode pack provides a path to ground and light comes on, when it IS producing charge both sides of the bulb are at 13.8v (or there abouts) and there is no PD so no illumination

ok, this is just pissing me off now!
ive driven my car for the last week and the light hasnt come on and then i drove it yesterday and the light was flashing on and off more than ever!
ive checked all the connections and everything seems fine!

God Dammit!
