Battery probs

I didnt use my car for a week and the battery went flat. Thought it would be a one off.

But it wasnt as it wasnt used last week and now its flat again.

Ive had the battery on charge since bout 1530 this afternoon. The car now starts.

But the key fob isnt locking or unlocking the car, i amhaving to use the key.

Anyone know why this is?

The key may have lost its settings. There are tricks you can do to try and get it working again without a trip to Reno to get it recoded at expense. But im afraid I dont know them.

Ive used the key since I bought mine, It went with the previous owner and I havent bothered to go and get it fixed.

sure someone will know how to do it.

everyone will have to change their battery sooner or later, cant loose key codes every time surely??

I didnt lose any codes the first time. And the fob unlocked the car at 5 this morn (just). But now wont lock it or anything. But it starts.

Didnt take any wires off the battery so its nothing as simple as that.

So, you charged the battery with all the wires still on?

Might that have affected some of the electrics (depending on the type of charger you used)?

yeah battery chargers can put out anything up to 16 volts

Its a new charger, id be very suprised if its done any harm.
