battery re-location

  172 cup'd extreme
want to stick my battery in the boot ,
would you
A. run poss and neg through the car to the boot
B. run both under the car (outside) into a hole in the wheel well
C. Just run a poss and take an earth from the metal in the boot

thanks for the help!

You would be best to run pos and neg all the way through the car, outside would be dangerous as cable could be easily damaged.

i aggree with big... id run the pos and neg through car pref oposit side to any rca leads u might have ,

but id do a neg to the boot aswell

There is absoloutly NO point in runnign the negative through the car, its only connected to the car body anyways, just earth it in the boot.

Run the pos through the hole in the bulkhead, by the fuse box and through the car, and make sure the battery is secure in the boot, or it will **** you on the head if you crash

dont it have a direct earth going directly to the engine ??? ?

all my past cars have , duno though aint paid much atension under clio bonnet

Probabily, but if you attach this to the chassis and the the neg to the cahssis in the boot, then the chassis conducts, most of the instruments etc are earthed to the chassis rather then to the battery

ONLY need to run the +ve through the car to the battery in the boot (keep in internal)

the shell of the car is the earth, everything electrical is earthed to the shell

NO NEED to run the earth

i've done this on a few clios now, trust me

jon would you like a list of parts required????

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider
yes, fred did this on the GDI demo car.... its fine....

ask him for the kit! + I need another of those circuit breakers please fred.

  Lionel Richie
kind of mr Lunner, but to do it properly i always use a fused system, and at least 1 circuit breaker

i can supply all the parts required if needed

How is the battery secured in the boot?
I remember in my mini it sat in a recessed box in the boot. I am pretty sure the cable ran underneath the car.
