I am not after massive bass. I have had a 15" Rockford for the last 3 months and so now am looking to lighten the car and just want a little bit of bass to add to all my compeonent speakers which have none.

Any ideas on what to get, need to keep space down. Have seen some pioneer wx205 I think it is.

if you want to keep weight down you cant go wrong with a phase linear aliante sub (bit pricy though)

a single 10" sub wlil be sufficient bass for most, while not quite having the weight of a 12" or bigger

what is your budget? and what do you need for that price?

Ive been thinking along the same lines, im still going to get a phaze linear adilante (sp) sub and a small but powerful amp and hide it all on one side in a custom panel.

thought about a quad coil amped jbl (its £60) and a basslink too but im a sound freak.

Do you guys have any links to these two ideas.

I am selling my 15" Rockford and an Alpine headunit,

So hopefully have around £200 to spend and already have a 250x2 amp, which I can just turn the gain down on.

the aliante operates in very very small enclosure, you could make one smaller than the stealthbox easily

just needs mdf, glue, screws and silicon sealant, and more than two brain cells

the sb will have a set box size, not speaker dependant, meaning the enclosure 99 times out of 100 will be the wrong size, meaning poor quality and poor sound (its your choice)

how about an re 8 , they run in very small enclosures and u would be very suprised how much they drop in the right box

It is a bit expensive though
you pay for quality though

re 8 is a Resonant Engineering 8" sub, not bad, nothing special, on a par with the Boston Acoustics 8.5 Pro LF that i had in my clio, bass can be heard, but not defined, very good in terms of quality, if you want bass (you had a 15"er so i think you do) then try and avoid 8" subs

ooops. thought they were really good.

Well I have a kenwood 12" somewhere so will use that for now, one of my mates has it. Then will get a better one later on.

Just get some new wheels for now, hehe

I dont like thoose bass tubes they look silly in my opinion but for what they are and price they sound good. my local ice guy has done a few installs with them there not that bad
