  182cup

nice that you can get a kit that give you 202 however GDI could do this a step at a time and probably cheaper. theres no guarentee that one car will produce 202 and one will produce 190 is there ? and after the recent RRd day results BB could claim that the rollers are out etc..

nice to a have a kit but people in the know on this forum will probably go to GDI for the work.

Andy ^^^ he thought BBR = BBPT

oh and the BBPT chaps dont fiddle their figures (although i still argue the toss over accuracy of certain ones!!! sorry!! que Ballcrusher!!)

sorry, should have read through properly as well !

I agree Fred, some of these rollers do need to be looked into. As i said before, a few standard (ish) cars should be run to be able to compare the figures. Thankfully there was a couple of 182s there the weekend showing 165 bhp, which made us feel a little happier when ours produced 177 !

Once we have finished upgrading we are going to hold a Clio rolling road day shortly (TBA), but will initially place a few standard cars on first to gain confidence from owners. Our rollers have always been pretty much bang on with Manufacturers figures on everything from a Fiesta to a M5 BMW, so that must stand for something.:)

Just thought some people might be interested, bbr have been around for ages and are well respected, if they are good enough to work on adrian neweys car (lotus elise conversion) they might be good enough to work on a renault;) Fred if they said 230 bhp you would say f*ck off, realistic figure and yes it may well cost twice as much as gdi

  Lionel Richie

no i wouldnt, id say well done, can i have a go

I think its fantastic to be honnest, just means we have to make our conversions better and to a higher standard whilst also keeping costs reasonable

i love competition, but i also hate loosing!!! hence why im gonna thrash that essex boy in his green clio with a hair dryer gaffer taped to the engine!!!!

Fred youve got to build your engine first and make it survive with the toys before you can even attmpt to beat the VW car.
Be interesting to see how bbr go about getting that power though.

VW???

I assume were on about j3ned cars? The one wih the 1.8T engine in it.

eh, where did "the lanky northerner" (j3ned) come into the equation???

im not saying a serious N/A clio will match the clioTT in a straight line, im not THAT stupid!!!

I thourght the Northern Monkey might have ben born down there (or should i be here here since Im holidaying with the posers ATM).
Thing is youd probably give 230hp vs 300 a go. Worryingly you might win if you use the special gearbox.

  Lionel Richie

dont be crackers, no one, and i mean NO one can keep up with the clioTT in a straight line

add corners into the equation, then its a different matter

Didnt realise the gaffer tape was in view! Anyway you might do on a twisty track with me driving, but you wont come close with a seasoned driver in the car !:D

Should be good fun to watch though, must get my arse into gear and prepare it.

Oh er Misses!
Going back to the roller results from a so called Aldon Automotive last saturday, lets face it they were sh*t. They were well out. I can just imagine though all thoses 182s and the trophy owner/s going back to renault for a refund because their cars were apparently under powered!!

BUT please dont forget after all the cars had run the two top cars from all 172s and 182s was my 172 and BBPTs 182

Aint that a surprise ;)

Info is on autocar.co.uk (first drives) a link would be nice but only just able to switch a pc on:confused: 202 bhp 168 ft lb of torque, alterations sports airfilter, cat back exhaust, high lift camshafts and recalibrated ecu (7800 rpm) cost £1250 diy or £1850 fitted in which case you also get a traction improving camber adjustment, the price isnt as much as i thought, Fred/ Ben/ Andy any comments good or bad you guys seem to know whats what
