Already enjoying it compared to the Rallye, reminds me of my old mi16 with the 16v really showing higher up the rev range.

just a couple more pics if any one is interested. Only had chance to upload them today. :)

Welcome! I hope you enjoy the clio. I have just recently sold my 306 rallye and bought a 172 cup. Im loving it apart from the lack of noise, which the 306 had!

Thanks chopper,
I thought about the 306 rallye a few years back, but by then I was bored of my mi16 (XU9J4) engine which was similar. I wanted 8 valves back ..ha ha.

Welcome to CS, sounds like you know your stuff.
not enough about this 2 litre engine yet, hopefully I won't have to do much with this one. (meaning French car) :) :)

I can't say I'm not worried about having 172HP in a car a little over a tonne with no ABS..........

Thanks mate, I'm sure I will take you up on that offer! I intend to join later tonight, and look forward to using the forum lots. :)

Sorry if I'm bing thicker than the village idiot - whats this mean -
Just as a side not its 172 PS, not. I'm not trying to dash your hopes, just a common mistake!

are you on about PS conpared to BHP??? I haven't mentioned that anywhere I don't think??:) :) :) PS is a higher measurement of power than BHP - hence car manufacturers love using it.
1 PS = 75 kp·m/s = 0.73549875 kW = 0.9863201652997627 hp (SAE)

Yup, 172 PS is about 169 BHP.

Hi and welcome.

Great choice of car :approve:

Not read if you've any plans to take it on track...if not, you should...they excel.

PS: you can lose the power steering...I've just changed to a manual rack and wish I'd done it years ago!

Hi, I think I just said that off the top of my head earlier on without thinking, yes most quoted figures now are PS (as mentioned manufacturers love to quote the highest figure possible!)

Hi there, no plans yet, I did want to keep the rallye for that reason (track car) but I just don'r have time anymore.

Interesting what you say about the rack change - well done for doing that - I bet it was a pain.:) :)
