beacons!!!! trophy and 197

  ITB'd 182...
seen you twice. how random. glad to see the sports being used and abused on some of the best roads in the u.k :)

  RB 182 Special.
Haha, they are my mates (one is RexinaTrophy who is on here and (was on ) the RS forum). If you saw them over the Beacons then no doubt they were making progress, lets say. ;)

Did you speak to them? They both wanted to go for a drive and as it got to lunchtime they both decided to head to South Wales as the weather was so good. Unfortunately it's a massive trek for me so I couldn't go. :(

  C63 AMG
I saw you too!! We both commented on how great the Audi sounded!! The black 182 looked great - and was being droved properly.

Droved? Haha, you idiot!

What sort of Audi was it? Hopefully as you just referred to it as 'Audi Quattro' it was just that: a rally classic. ;)

Yeah it sounds fab but its not quite perfect yet

Yeah old rally classic Quattro il get a pic up later of her

Was the black Clio a KTEC turbo? (B/F reckoned he glanced and saw an intercooler as it flew past lol)

We were up there earlier on in the day, my b/f took an Impreza for a blast up there. He loves that road, his father taught him to drive on it lol

Where are you all from then?

First thing my b/f did was go on pistonheads and looked for a new car, just for the mountain

And yes, the local name for the hairpin on the A4069 is "Tre-cwcw"

182chick: Everything you've said sounds awesome! I'll look forward to that pic of the Quattro. I love rallying and they definitely are a classic. Proper car!

182chick, that's a quality collection of cars there! And in the snow? Oo, I bet that was entertaining.

Has anyone been down that little unclassified on the left just as you come off the hairpin going down hill? If you haven't I'd highly recommend it, it's an fantastic little road!

Yeah that road takes you to Trap/Carreg Cennen Castle area.

The b/f knows all the roads up these parts, so if you want to have a meet or a driving route, let me know

Here's the Quattro

Is the Quattro your boyfriend's only car or does he own some of the other beauties in the photos too?

People go on about how the 182 like to pose on 3 wheels. Going round the little corner in that last pic onto the unclassified, I once had my 106 on 2 wheels! And Rex was behind me laughing at the whole thing.

Yeah that small road is very tight, some parts are too rough to go over quickly though - great if you want to wreck the suspension. I can imagine cars on 2 wheels there though!

The Quattro is the father-in-law's, but I and the b/f have had a few cars.

Nah, it's fine. It isn't as rough as Wrynose and Hardknott. ;)

Your father in law has very good taste. You and your boyfriend do look to have had a nice collection of cars. I can see what you've got now under your avatar. What does your boyfriend have at the moment?

Haha thanks, yeah the Quattro is nice. Its mint too.

He's got a Passat at the moment, and he's bored with it. Soon as he stepped out of the Impreza he said "we're having one". Hes been looking at Impreza STIs, but also the older Civic TypeR? EK9 I think he said. But we're even looking at 172 Cups. I currently drive a Seat Ibiza Cupra TDI (FRP and FRS have gone). Its fast, but he complains about the understeer. Hahaha

Good stuff. I do love Imprezas. My step dad got one in the late '90s and it was the first lengthy experience I'd had with a really fast car. They're awesome to drive but unfortunately are like clitorises though these days. Has he tried any of the Evos out?

next south wales meet is being organised over this road again. had a great day last time and there seems to be more interest this time.get your names on the list!!!!

Sounds good except for the date. I've got an RS meet on the 2nd, which ends with a night on the lash so I'll be in no fit state to go out driving on the 3rd unfortunately.

What suspension does you car have on it guppy? Do you ever experience scraping under the front arches as it looks really low?

  Nimbus 197
I was there with Rex! It was my first trip into the Beacons although I've wanted to go for a long time - I've been into north and mid Wales a few times previously with Rex, Kriss and Wolf among others. Your 182 looked excellent Guppy and as Rex said, was being driven as it should be! and the audi sounded great.
I have to say the A4069 has become one of my favourite roads straight away. :approve:

After those spots yesterday I thought I had to join up and see if any of you guys were on here!

Howdo Keef. Glad to hear you enjoyed South Wales, but then I'm sure you knew you would. The A4069 is fantastic! So twisty, well sighted and silky smooth.

I'm lucky that I only live a few miles from there and yes the road is epic, I was there on Saturday morning in my Mexico

Yeah there's quite a few of us round here at the moment, looking forward to the next meet as haven't been before.

It is a great place to live, I often go for a blast on that road late at night with the radio off, its great to relieve the daily the grind of work and everything else

How's it going Kriss? Good to see you on here, if not the other place!

That is such a class road - hopefully be back there soon.
