Been in at renault garage now have electrical issues!!

I noticed this the other night when I had my main beam on...

When i then use the indicator the rear fog light symbol on the dash flashes in time with the indicator! Its a very dull flash but it def wasnt there before I put my car into the renault garage!

I was thinking it may be a short but I dont know if any1 can point me what to look for??

this time it was the dumb barton branch...

sound like a loose earth around the dash somewhere. or a fault in the cluster

Tracking across on the rear lights, they've got water in them. Take them off and dry them out (airing cuboard for a few hours should do), you might not be able to see anything in them but its whats causing it. Mine was coming on with the brake and reverse lights, but its just depends where its tracking across.

hi there, your problem is a poor earth to the rear lights common problem on all clio 2's, if u remove both rear lights and check on all bulbs for corrosion on the bulbls themselves, or the earthing points from the lights.

i dont understand how this is something thats happened from bringing it into the garage! i work for a renault dealership and its amazing how customers always make it the dealers fault when something goes wrong! Even if any work hasnt been done on that particular area of the car! I admit some dealerships are poor!

Well my car always runs perfectly until i get it back from the dealership...

Im on the 2nd engine as the dealer "forgot" to tighten the sump plug after the service....

I had to contribute to the cost as well as the car was just out of warranty.

I've been to 3 different renault dealers and they are all as bad as each other...

Oh and the renault brand wasnt near the bottom of the jd power survey for no reason. In my experience the cars are badly built and serviced by a bunch of monkeys...

Had exactly the same problem. I reomved the rear lights and just shaked the wires a little bit (stypid). After that, the problem disappered.

I had the same problem, except when my indicator comes on the sidelight goes dim. I have replace all the rear bulbs, that fixed the flashing rear fog problem for a while.lol. I cleaned the earth etc but still no luck :dapprove:

Clio 2 has twin fogs.

i'm sure ive read on here that they only have oneo f the fogs wired up on the clio 2 but have bulbs and bulb holders in both clusters, and it is a common mod to run a wire between the "live" fog and the "dead" one, so they both work,

Ah good old Dumbarton Renault. I went in there for some work and came out with my airbag warning light on. Took it back to get that fixed and came out only to find my CD player controls had stopped working. All in all it cost me about 6 or 7 trips as they never had the parts to sort it, or they ordered the wrong parts. I can tell you with 100% certainty that I didn't have either of these faults before going in.

Parks reno in East Kilbride seem to be quite good lately, its also handy for me as they're only 5 miles from the house..
