Beginner Looking For Advice...

Merry Christmas firstly!

I have bought a Nikon D60 with an 18-55mm lens, case rechargeable battery, charger, 8GB memory card and carry case for £150 off a friend.

It is in fantastic condition, used once or twice.

Can anyone recommend anything to buy for it?

I'm a noob with photography too. I think the general consensus is get out there and start using it before going mad spending cash on extra kit. Once you learn what type of pictures you like taking and how frequent you're using/how skilled you are you'll know what you need to add to your kit.

Buy a decent tripod. Read the guides. Practice.

Does the LCD screen actually work as a screen displaying what I'm shooting? It just has lots of numbers etc on there at the mo!!

No, this is a proper camera. You need to look through the hole at the top. Lol.
