Belt change question.

Car  Clio 182
Just after some additional info to what I think I already know!

My cars in having a belt kit fitted and as well as this they think the dephaser is on it's way out so this is getting seen to also.

My question is, is it worth getting anything else done while they have the car stripped to bits? Heard the water pump could be a good shout or can this be done later down the line without taking cam belt etc off? Cars on 75k

Thanks

Any specialist would do the aux belt kit at the same time, and cam seals if required, Other than that, its about it.

Water pump if it has play, or is leaking, but they often go for well over 100k. Genuine only on that too!

Well it is a Renault specialist it's at but I might get them to double heck the water pump anyway. I thought is the pump goes just down the line you would have to do the belts again anyway so rather pay a small bit more now than another 400 later.

change water pump also they get noisy and can be mistaken for a lot of other problems by garages that dont know any better .

I forgot to say, Water pump is on the aux belt, normally they show signs of failure, before they fully do.

Cars are getting on now and how they are used is so variable. If you can afford it get it done. Peace of mind is worth a lot. Mine had the works just before I got it which is why I have no issue using it as was intended.
