Bent Car. :(

  Clio 197
As many of you know, my car's been in for repairs twice now.

First accident: passenger side damage caused by someone driving into the side of my car.

Second accident: rear end damage, due to someone driving into the back of my car.

I've had the car back from it's second lot of repairs now.

It looks wrong.

Panels not matching, things slightly out of place.

The whole thing looks wrong.

Apparently they had it on a Jig, and spoke to someone in france.

Apparantly the rear section of my car is shared with the V6 model, and therefore according to those specifications, my car's fine.

Well, that's just bullsh*t. My car looks wrong.

I no longer want my car. It just isn't right.

How do I approach my insurance company, and get them to take it off me (due to unsatisfactory repairs)?

Does anyone on here have a Jig they can check my car with?

Oms.

Reject the repair. Take it back and tell them what the problems are. Your insurer will ask you to give them the oppertunity to rectify any issues, if its still not right then I would say you are well within your rights to complain to formally reject it.

I might later Si.

I've had enough TBH.

It's the second time my car's been in for two reasons:

1) They were meant to rectify the problems from my first repair (some have been rectified).

2) Repair damage from my second accident.

Aye, the work has to be approved by the insurance company, and the car repaired back to original standards. If its not, tell the insurance company mate.

Did you sign the satisfaction declaration Oms?

If you havn't, then do what DarthCake said and reject the repair.

If you have, then get the car checked on a Jig at another bodyshop.

FFS mate, never goes right for you.

Scream blue-f***ing-murder at them, get your insurance company involved...then find out where the bodyshop guys live...make their cars as spectacularly mint as yours.

Yes I signed it, not knowing that they've left minor scratches on the passenger side, and somehow messed-up the driver's door lines. Theres also miracuously been movement of the front bumper/wing on the driver's side.

They DID fix the hole in my roof (thankfully).

The rear bumper isn't quire 100% straight... 98%, but not 100%.

They've incorrectly wired the soleniod in the tailgate, so that it locks/unlocks inversely to the rest of the car (so technically, my car's uninsured because it's never totall locked).

OH, and my rear bumper is a slightly different colour the the rear quarter panel.

Call the insurance company, chances are they'll be as pi$$ed off as you...after all they've paid for the shoddy work.

Man thats harsh mate, thought the problems ive been having were bad but seriously. Im pretty sure its within your rights to reject the car if its not back to standard specs

Sorry to hear about this.

Who are you insured with?

Did you send it to the 'approved repairer'

When were repairs carried out??

Stay calm, focused & it will work out ok.

For every 10 crap jobs they do only 1 or 2 will complain, enough to warrant re doing work.

It's a numbers game.

I'm with Direct Line.

It's their approved repairer (who'se seen the car twice in two months).

I've only just got it back from the second lot of repairs.

The first lot (which weren't quite right either) were done a few months ago.

This visit was for two reasons: (1) To put right errors from the last repair; (2) To repair new damage to the car.

So far, they've done three insurance jobs on this car (2 third party claims; one vandalism claim). This has all been in the past three months.

People ask: Why go there again?

I say: So that they cannot blame anyone else for mistakes - every non-matching panel on that car is due to them, and them only.
