Got bout £25 to waste on car products. Will be buying a detailing brush too as there are some things i wanna patch up.

Will be popping down to halfords. All i have right now is some autoglym polish and some shitty Morrisons shampoo.

Maguras ? or whatever its called which costs like £13 anyhitng else for achieving a good shine ?

You probably won't get too far for £25 unfortunately. I would get the AG Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection, a decent applicator and microfibre towels to remove with.

If it is still 3 for 2 at Halfords, I would then get either Fast Glass or a plastic/ tyre dressing.

Bottle of zymol autowash, a bottle of zymol cleaner wax and a bottle of autoglym trim cleaner (the yellow square).

Wash with the autowash, then wash with a cleaner wax solution (its like waxy water)...... make sure it dont dry before you chamois it, especially on the windows.

This is dead easy and will give an ace finish if your paint work dont need polishing.

Then use the trim cleaner on the windows sill's wipers, gulleys, tyres, roof bars, bump guards if the clio has them and black bits of the mirrors.

The vinegar and news paper on the windows.

Job done for not much money

Depends what you need? Buy some autoglymm shampoo? They sell that in halfords. Then get their lambswool mitt if you haven't got one?

Its Been w hile since it was cleaned. Tis gunna get a full vallet in and out and maybe depending on what tie i have ill be doign the engine too. Will be using some matt dash crap for it.

I have some AG Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection allready. Willl buy a wolly thingy your on baout i know where to look for it. Will be getting some shitty uphoulstry cleaner too. Might remove the seats for a good vaccum too.

Will be just over budget but a good starter kit.

Lambswool Wash Mitt is for using as a safer option to wash your car rather than a sponge.

Mitt for washing theres a guide on washing your car on here somewhere.
Autoglym hi-foam interior shampoo good for interior though expensive as you'll use a whole can to do all your interior.

If you have a little more to spend I would get some clay, will dramatically imrpove the end result if it is in bad shape. You can get the Meguiars kit from Halfords. I would get this over the EGP really as it is better to clean the paint properly rather than layer products over contaminants.

Problem you got is it sounds like the detailing aint been too hot and your budget aint to hot either.

So with that budget you can either clean it good or prepare it good ready for cleaning / detailing not both.

Also dont buy the meg's clay kit....... its an abortion.

Its not a real lehm clay and they just bundled it in a box with some already existing quick detailer as lube hahahaha

The zymol one is a 1000 times better (everyone on my club who i have advised this too will agree, one guy actually did different panels and the difference is HUGE!!), if your budget dont go to that then the sonus non ultra fine is about the same price and lots better.

IMO the clay in the Megs Kit as as good as any of the other ones out there. Most are made by the same company.

Its not actual lehm klay though?

I personally don't find it does much more than a medium grade polish tbh. it feels like the green sonus ultra fine one.

I think i have the old zymol one...... well i have 2. I have the professional klay which has been discontinued and the lehm klay 2. i do believe they have changed it slightly and called it lehm klay 3.

Its one of them products you only really need to use once though so i never upgraded.

I've heard that is it blue-tac or plasticine does the same job? Dunno? Just something my mate keeps saying.
Ive only used meg's so cant comment on difference.
Make sure you read all you can about clay though cos it will cause marring if done incorrectly.

I would NOT recommend trying that theory!! Not the same thing AT ALL. To test this, try hanging posters up with some clay....not the same texture, desnsity or properties at all.

Like Rich says most clays (in their relevant classes, e.g. light or medium cut) do pretty much the same job. The lube doesn't seem to make much difference either, just make sure to use PLENTY and not in the sun.

If you are looking to make a big difference to your paint I would definitely do this.

well my paint is in good shape imo. Bought £46 worth of car s**t lol. Wolly washer thing, and a wolly polisher too, didnt have the Zymol wash so i bought the Magura's stuff. Bought the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection too. Detailing brush and some other crap....


Washed car. Allmost finished drying it, and now it's raining. Its in the garage right now, have finished polishing the bonnet and have put some of the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection on it will buff off later. Will post some pics of the car but its wet and now the car has water marks all over it. i CAN HONESTLY say i can see a difference between the cheapo car shampoo and the £13.99 car wash i just bought. Its quite satisfying too. Theres been marks on the car for months and now theyve just come off, whether the car wash did this or the wooly washer gizmo did it i duno. But it looks kinda smart. Just needs alloys on it now

PS. car is metallic so it wont really shine like other cars will.

Glad you like it... but metallic flake adds to the shine not detracts. Well, strictly speaking it adds to the depth of the paint but it improves the look compared to matt colours...
