Best induction kit/air filter for a 182

I've just bought a Clio 182 and am just in the process of running it in! Renault recommend doing 800 steady miles, is this enough? Also i'd like to change the standard air box to a performance filter, does any one recommend a particular one as there are so many!

I've got an open cold air 57i K&N induction on .. its loud but a lot of people have been going on about enclosed cold air filters for the clios..
The open air ones get warm and loose performance. Dont know the best one for the car but make sure its a closed cold air filter :)

There's already a lot written about this; a quick search should reveal all you need to know. For all its worth, I went for an uprated air filter (ITG Maxogen) as, unless you are going to uprate the exhaust etc, the power gains are negligible. But if its the growl you're after then l!ckledev!l is right, induction is the way to go. Just make sure its enclosed cold air feed.

Just get an ITG filter for the OEM box, maybe a cold air feed pipe, and maybe a silicone elbow. I have these, having played with Hillpower etc in the past. Anything else is a waste of money IMHO.

Open filters work fine providing there away from Heat....

so where under to bonnet is away from the heat theres not alot of space anyway let alone trying to find somewhere away from heat it get hot under there i would say enclosed is the way to go

Why not buy somthing decent with the £250 a closed induction kit is gonna cost you like a ported inlet manifold or a exhaust

exhaust is the same as a filter, for the money you'll get fook all extra bhp..... maybe even loose some

As a stand alone mod, an IK is pretty useless - It'll gain you nothing more than likely, and possibly lose you low down torque (don't know how much the accoustic valve does for this)

BUT as part of a series of mods, it can be well worthwhile. Especially when used together with Exhaust, inlet, ECU.

I have the ITG. Soon to get Zorst, inlet manifold match and remap.

Theres nothing wrong with the std filter IMHO.
I think that for what it costs to upgrade to Maxogen typer filter (£250), I have fitted an uprated panel filter, uprated air feed, silicone elbow and still have enough money left for BenR's intake mod which liberated 13bhp on another members car.
If the ITG can give you the 15 or so bhp that this little lot can then I'm Walt Disney:p
