Best induction kit for small engines

  Audi S3 225

I did have a Pipercross induction kit fitted to my Clio 1.2 Grande but after reading certain posts on here I removed it and discovered how much the kit was slowing me down.

At the moment I’m running the standard airbox with the standard filter. I never want to use another open source induction kit ever again, I had 2 decent cold air feeds going straight to it and it still didn’t perform.

I’m really confused at what to do now, I really did like the noise the ik made when at 4k revs but I also like the little bit of extra power I’ve gained back from the standard airbox.

What do you think I should do? Should I get a panel filter and if so which company make the best panel filters, or should I pay the extra £200 and get a decent enclosed induction kit, the money isn’t a problem and I do like the Viper X and BMC CDAs, one thing is do the companies make unclosed ik for small engine cars such as mine, if so who?

Any feedback is appreciated, thx

I looked on bmcs website and they do not list my car, so I have emialed them and hope for a reply soon, viper seem ok and do make one for my car and wots the reverie thingybob, are thye any good?

it is unlikely that any of the above will make filters foryour car, but you will just have to fiddle about with fittings, it shouldnt be too difficult to fit

try http://www.itgairfilters.comwww.itgairfilters.com they also explain how there system works. Unfortunately there are no listings for but any renaults. But they do make them for VTRs made 2000 onwards. Maybe these could be adapted, but youll need some one with more knowledge than me to tell you if it would fit
