Best place to have my konis setup??

  BB TUNED 182 (220BHP)
As above really people im based in Birmingham,

They are allready fitted to the car, But...

At fcs just as im getting ready for my track time i look in the the boot and see that long bolt and washer type thing is sitting about 4 inches higher than it should be!

I spoke to GDI, K-TEC (they couldnt help) and then bumped on to Fred who kindly come over to the cs stand and had a nose,

He managed to sort it out but he said they will need welding, Somthing about the standerd suspension bolt and washer dont work with konis as there a differant size and they were only held in place by a sirclip which had poped out,

As you can tell i know nothing about this  But from what i could gather the a new (differant size) washer needs to be welded to the suspension to stop the bolt etc coming through again?

Ive got no idea where to take it tbh she pulls slighty to the left now to almost as if one side of the car sits a tad higher than the other? But no doubt that will be sorted when they are set up again.

Any help would be great hope it all makes sense to some one!

Cheers Paul.

Search for Horizon motorsport, ten minute drive from harborne. Do a lot of lotus/tvr work, give them a call.

Hi CODGEY182 am just curious to know really, did your 182 come with the cup suspension? As I have recently noticed, Koni now have shocks available for the Clio 182, so it should be a straight forward fit onto a 182??

My 182 is without cup suspension and only Ktec advertise koni 172 shocks to fit my model, which from my experience is not correct as I have tried to have them fitted by 2 different companys (bbpt and elite) who both they say dont fit even Koni direct said the 172 shocks wont fit the non cup model 182's.

So I am hoping that the Koni 182 shocks will fit correctly to my model with out modifications as stated above.

What Koni shocks are fitted to your 182?

Rob.

I'm certain that's not correct, 182 non-cupped has same basic setup as 172, so 172 coils fit 182.

Have just done a search mate you own what was BBperformance tuning demo car. How interesting that you have konis fitted as it was bbtuning that SHOWED me that these shocks wouldnt fit a non cupped 182 and here they are fitted to what was there non cupped 182..

you need to remove the damper and take it to anybody who can weld. the standard koni system is a small circlip that locks down. not the best design in the world but normally seems to work.

if its broken off then it will just be a matter of rewelding it down if its still present, or finding a suitably thick washer and welding that on. shouldnt need new rear dampers

Thanks middo,

Yeh the circlip is there and Fred refitted for me at fcs Since then the car has pulled to the left same side i had the problem,

Any idea what this could be?

Paul.
