because i worked with both tom tom and garmin day in day out and the number of tom toms we got back compared to garmins was startling.

any money if you get a tom tom it'll end up breaking or something will go wrong.

my stepdad bought a yaris sr with a tom tom sat nav built into it, tomtom broke within 3 days.

anyways dont listen to me if you dont want to

thats funny because i've had a number of tomtom's, as have other people in my family, our company has then in the pool cars and i've never known any of them to have any fault ever.

inherently, because more people have them i guess more are likely to go wrong as theres more of them to go wrong, but i've never heard of reliability problems with tomtom, most people think renault have bad reliability but the four i have had have been very reliable!

we sold more garmins than tomtoms mainly because we promoted them more as had more confidence in them, hence why ive got one myself and recommended them to everyone.

its the same as everything tho, because tomtom are the main name people buy them because they think theyre the best, like sony for instance but there are others that are better.

all due respect the new series of tom toms are better, but it still take a garmin and day of the week

both tom tom and garmin are good, ive sold shed loads at work, best buy atm for £100 is 205w garmin. its come down in price alot

Picked up the v4 tomtom one with european maps today from Currys, with the voucher it was only £77 and is obviously brand new rather than refurbed. Happy with it so far!!

Can't say I'm happy with my Tom Tom One v3. Had endless problems with it out of the box and right now I'm still trying to sort out why it turns itself back on at random which from what I've read is not uncommon. Only problem with that is that I don't realise and it's flat when I come to use it. And £30 (when they're on offer) for map updates
