Best spark plugs to buy???

  Renault Clio 182
Thanks guys. Awesome help.

right...as garages in area are stupid.

wheh I pull off in 1st, go left or right, mainly left. There is a clicky noise, which last around 3 seconds, then goes once wheels are straight. I've had bearings done. New tyres etc too cos of hitting severe pot hole.

theyre suggesting drive shaft? Would this be the click?

If you're parked up and turn the wheel to each full lock does it still do it?? mines clicking as needs new driveshaft. Mines also fine when driving normally, only happens when parking or stationery.

No noise at all when parked. Just when you pull forward and turn into spaces, junctions etc. and when I hit 75mph there's a slight wobble, then goes again at 85mph... It's weird :( it's going in for driveshaft on Friday. If this doesn't work il b back on here lol

gonna sound stupid... But I'm dopey lol would ebay do the spark plugs? How much should they be? And how many do I need? My mate will do the service you see ;)

Could be the CV joint, find an empty car park go full lock left or right and accelerate enough to move the car keeping full lock on the steering, if you hear clacking its the CV joint one side or another.

Thanks mate. That's exactly it. Was burning around a car park yesterday. :) to hear it...

is the CV built on a drive shaft??? It's like a piece that's around 60mm what I've got? It's got almost a plunger looking rubber seal, is that the cv joint on the end if the shaft??? :)

Spark plugs you want are these in the picture below.

You clicking will most likely be a CV joint which will need a drive shaft changed as renault dont sell CV joints on there own.
You could go for an after market CV joint but it might not last long and a full OE drive shaft is only around £130.

Im sure ebay would do the plugs, just make sure there the same as I posted. You will need 4 plugs one for each cylinder and they need to be torqued up correctly to 27nm

I'm not 100% but I think the CV joints on the 182's might be new drive shaft time only.

You can buy universal replacement boots, but if its already clacking its new drive shaft time. I think you can buy reconditioned shafts.. might be worth looking into that.

And yeah behind the brake disc closest to it, is the CV joint inside the plunger type rubber boot is where its located if thats what you mean.

Brilliant lads thank you. This site is awesome! Who needs garages with you lot! Lol I've ordered a drive shaft tonight from renault. With the CV joint on it :) so hopefully that'll do it :) just they said once I fit it, it'll be non returnable. So just going to check with you lot first.

Brilliant! Thanks guys!

anyone know of gear knob inserts for sale? :) would a kangoo gear knob fit onto the clio stick? :)

I know spray shack on here was selling some silver inserts where the numbers and stuff don't come off (common on normal inserts)

Also did you get a recon driveshaft as they are about 130 whereas a new unit from Renault is 230ish

Which side do you think it is?

I replaced the CV joint on my girlfriends suzuki alto only to get the wrong side replaced, but that was due to me not really test driving it :quiet: luckily it was only £25 a side.

I got it through a garage, they said renault genuine part, plus fitting £225. But they're friend of friends. Hence cheap deal I think :)

How much are the inserts? Link? :)

  Renault Clio 182
I can't see the inserts as I'm only a half member lol not official ha...

Its drivers side 100% you can hear it on that wheel... :)

Just make sure its the correct driveshaft then, take yours off and measure up against new one to be sure as they vary for all models I think, at least then if it isn't the correct one you can send back and it wouldn't have been fitted.

Link above :D

Could you upload a pic of them? They any good?

Yeah they are good mate, spray shack is well known on here for their quality of work.

I'll try and get a pic - couldn't get a pic but can vouch they look good and for 15 quid posted aint bad.

Well worth signing up to become a full member mate. 12pound a year which with the club discounts and that I've probably saved a couple hundred quid now.
