Best way to clean coolant header tank/bottle????

As above got a grubby header tank (internal). Tried running it through the dishwasher which didn't really work as there isn't great access for the water/cleaner.

Any other ideas, pref tried and tested so im not wasting my time

Fill it with some sort of detergent, plug both ends and shake?

Tried a s**t load of fairy and boiling hot water to no use, maybe cilit bang or somethings needed.

Use one of those bottle cleaning brushes. shaking wont really clean it well enough

Half fill it with warm soapy water.

Pour half a cup full of rice in.

Block gaps. Shake. Done- it'll come up like new.

Fairy Liquid worked for me. It just takes time, take the bottle off half fill with detergent and rice, sit in garden getting a tan and shake as long as you can, the more effort you put into it the cleaner it will be.

done this today, it worked a treat on the base but higher up the header tank where its sort of baffled it didnt do much. Any ideas how to get that off?? Any good products out there that would work
