Best way to clean/protect wheels...

Could I get some advice please... Going to be having the wheels off in a couple of weeks to give them a proper clean and get rid of all the crap in the inside of the rim.

I've got Bilberry wheel cleaner to sort that, but what's the best way to protect them after?
I've been looking at RimWax but I'm not sure what the process to go about it is.

Any help would be great.

You need to polish and protect them so next time round all you need is warm soapy water.

Wash, clay, polish, seal.

Wash with Bilberry or just Autoglym Engine and Machine Cleaner (neutral cleaners/degreasers).
Polish with something simple like SRP or Lime Prime
Seal with a decent sealent/wheel wax. Standard waxes can't deal with the heat given off by brakes and engine, so choose Chem Guys/Poorboys Wheel Sealent, or something like Finish Kare 1000p.

Done.

you may need some tar remover too, you be surprised at the amount of tar that's present inside the rim

you will know its tar cos nothing else will remove these spots!

Ahhh right, thank you!

I did a search before posting and saw that people were saying use SRP etc, but wasn't sure whether you could on wheels or not.
That's great!

Is RimWax any good btw, or would you recommend Poor Boys stuff?

Buy my wheel sealent, it works to 1000 degress and the brake dust will wash right off!

Marketing.

If there are any caked on parts and tar I suggest g101 to remove the grime then tardis to get rid of the larger tar spots.

After that give them a good clay, polish, then seal. My own personal choice would be fk1000p.

I don't buy into wheel sealent.

I don't rate it and bought it purely because I lol'd at the name. Have a great photo somewhere of me with a thumbs up next to it . . .
