If you are any good at prepping/spraying and if your not that bothered about the bodywork too much, i would wet and dry the scratch and surrounding area smooth, then blend it in with a rattle can(+ clearcoat) and machine polish it back up a few days after.

It wouldnt be perfect but imo it would look better than touching it up with a pen, it depends what sort of finish you are after, a touch up pen would be cheaper and easier.

Daniel: the part on the far left can feel it with my nail the rest is very faint

MrTom: i don't fancy touching any of the body work as i dont want to make it any worse, preferably i would like it sorted and possibly the swirl marks removed

  Whichever has fuel
Wet sand it and machine polish it then. You should just be left with the worst bit on the end.

IMHO it looks too deep to flat and polish...and you'll end up rubbing through the clear coat trying to get rid of it...You never know tho if you do try this just go steady do bit by bit (know the limit) if you are unsure get your local body shop to have a go failing this just get them to paint it properly...DONT just touch it up so an aerosol it will look s**t! I promise you!
P.s. I work in a body shop so without sounding like a dick. I know what I'm talking about...let me know if you need any more advise...hope this helps...yes I like my "...";-)

A spray can into the cap then cotton bud, and repeat the numerous times, then rubbing compound, then more paint from the cap, rubbing compound, then a couple layers of clear coat, then blended in, then run over it with the polishing machine

Looks brilliant now, well done.

You should be giving the advice not asking it with skills like those :)
