Best way to wax the car?

What methods? Obviously cleaning the car thoroughly first.

Dry the car with a chamois.

Then what?...

What processes and what materials should i use at what time..

I used that Autoglym aqua wax the otherday.
Made a really good job & gave the car a great shine.
You get two microfiber towels with it aswell.
You can use it if the cars still wet, just spray it on, a panel at a time. Apply it evely with one towel and buff it off with the other.

So i apply the wax on, wait for it to cure, then use a microfibre cloth to wipe it and buff it?

Coat the pad in a light amount of wax, apply in small overlapping circles to make sure the panel gets a even amount... Make sure its a thin layer.
Then wait 5mins for it to haze, then lightly buff away.
I would then re buff after 10 mins.

I like to spray the patch first with a fine mist of warm water, then add the wax, this way it's easier to move about and get a thin even layer of wax, then leave to cure.

apply the wax in vertical strips down the car, that way you use less wax and get a better finish according to Alan. :)

no its best to buffer with wire wool with paint stripper

We polished mine yday, i'm get to Glaze, seal and wax it...

Wax'in is just part of bigger pic...

To answer your question, there's no gospel way to wax, lines and as thin as you can. Layers easier and then a plush M/F towel to remove.

Wax is a preference, do you go for a spray wax, or a soft/hard carnuba based... I use both.

Depends on the wax too, some if you leave on for to long will be a nightmare to remove - read the instructions on the said wax.

It was turtle wax... left it to haze for 5 mins, and buffered it off...

Works a treat :)

Car is gleaming now :)

I used some turtle wax once.
It wasnt too bad.
I thought it gave a smooth finish with a nice gloss.
Just a cheap alternative really.

Impressed with it.

What do i need to put on the car so when water runs on it, it beads??

As far as Turtle wax goes i used this on the wifes 138, and its bloody hard wearing used it on top of SRP

Only adds like F-all % to the finish imo.

Waxing is not all about getting a better finish, its about durability and protecting the finished that you've got underneath which you hopefully obtained at the polishing stage.

No use polishing to a superb gloss and not protecting it with a sealant or wax.

Understand what you're saying Mikey, sometimes the car looks better straight after polishing and before waxing.

No, no ,no..they scratch. I leave mine to dry naturally..any watermarks are removed when you buff of the wax.

I use either Megs quik wax or Collinites 915...use a 100% cotton cloth to apply and a Microfibre to buff off. Do a panal at a time..that way the wax dosnt become to hard to remove.
Also you dont need loads..just thin layers at a time.

Yeah i took my car round the back where it was a bit more shadier.

Just because it was getting hot and i couldn't stand the heat!

Also ..I dont wax my car in the sun..normally find a shady spot for that bit.
Probably different for a silver car though...black just goes swirly in the sun.
I forgot how much work black cars take.

lol..I have to wash my car in the morning..inbetween 10-12 or after 4pm as thats the only times there is shady spots in my street...well there is another place ..but the strange bloke at the bottom of the close..likes to park his car right in the middle off it:dapprove:
I do a sort of meercat impression...and if the sun is on a corner of the car..I wait for a cloud.:)

A decent wax will add a little something to the paint, not anywhere near the look a good polish can give.
