Better to have a low front end or low back end?

Re: Better to have a low front end or back end?

For any FWD car it should be lower at the front...Drag racing, road, track...

I have been told in the past to go lower at the front on FWD cars. I don't know for sure why, but I think it's to do with weight transfer/traction.

Lower on the front of clios doesn't really do the handling much of a favour.

Maybe a tad lower, but a standard cup will be higher at the front than the back ever so slightly.

Best handling setup I ever had was sills level and lowered around 40mm.

Explain this then,

Nope. We are talking about ride height.

what are you, the rake police?

Typically if you slam an RS clio on coilovers, lower front than rear, you will lose all that juicy rake and understeer all the way back to Dieppe.

Just dont do silly low like this...

I had tons of trouble with speed bumps etc..its now about 20mm higher and is perfect I think. Dont have an uptodate piccy though

Edit kinda found one from a recent meet...

Not a RS (although, the original post wasn't specifc), but this is how my proton is setup, it is now 20mm higher all round which has made it better allround.

I have played around with the ride height etc a fair bit and it seems best like this.

The camera was on a slant when taking the pic, so it looks like it is further down at the front than it really is, but it is a little lower at the front.

Lifters??? PS someone has riveted your bodykit on ;)

Lifetrs??? (not just repeating what you said, just not sure what you meant) :o:o:o:o

Rivets stop the arches falling off, it is a proton you know and isn't the best built car :)

Bonnet lifters dear boy??? Or raisers if that what they are called?? :S Make the bonnet sit up all the time to let air in or something?? (Im old im not up with the youth of today :) )

Im only jossing about rivets! I loved my mates old proton he had I almost got one before I boughtmy old MK1 valver :)

Slammed on the front, lost rake, too much camber and handled like a ballsack.

Slammed on the front, lost rake, lost grip, handled like a ballsack.

Raised them both level and what the f**k my grip came back?

Ive got a corsa thats slammed on the front and despite the seriooous camber it seems to handle well over 70 beans which surprised me. The stance is similar to the proton.

Ah, now I get you.............the bonnet is lifted at the rear using spacers and long bolts to get the hot air out. A lad I know had a temp gauge in the engine bay (near the air intake) and it made a good difference. I just went off what was said, I ditn't care enough to est it myself :o

The cold air intake is not good enough by itself to keep the air going into the engine cool, it's a pretty bad design TBH.

I'm no yoof (I have to google some of the abbreviations used on here) :D.

"Handle well" and "Corsa" should not be used in the same sentance.....
