Big ICE job for a newbie!!!

  Clio dynamique 1.4 16v
Hi, i've just got a 03 1.4 clio with the usual sound kit. I want to take my stuff out of my old megane. it includes alpine HU, ipod link, amp, sub, comps, and 6x9's. the company who put it all in want £180 to put in the clio (F**k that), so i'm gonna try myself. does it matter which side of the car i should put the cables down? also if anyone has any pics that will help me put the wiring in would be a great help.:D

Lancashire. I would be buzzing if i could do it myself. Also the seats in the megane are metal backed and the amp was screwed onto that, but the clio is doesn't have metal on the back of the seats.

youll have to run the amp cables down one side of the car and the RCAs down the other side to avoid interference if your doin it properly, no they are not metal back will have to go on the floor.

or you could run them down the same side it makes no difference

you want to avoid the fuel pump cables.

ditch the 6x9's;)

it does make a slight difference lol , as i said depends if your doin it all properly

you can mount the amp by putting a bit of mdf behind the cloth in the seats, that what i did, a member called fubar had a really good guide to do it thats what i did. good luck

Yup fubar had a guide, as for the cable issue it's good practice to run them seperately but most cables are shielded these days so dont suffer being run the same side if you cant be bothered to strip both.

  Polo + Micra
i don't know where you would get interference from inside the car.

if you do it's usually a bad earth some where and f**k all to do with where you run your cables

i'll have a look for fubar's guide. would the amp overheat if i screwed it to the side of the sub box?

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
shouldnt do , just make sure the box doesnt vibrate too much, i killed a 2800 watt amp by doing that mind you it was runing at 140.5 db

mine is a planet audio amp, can't fault it. don't think I'll risk it . I've looked for fubars guide but i can't find it.

does it matter? i started the thread for some advice not so people can argue how many spots a leopard has ;)

  Polo + Micra
lol true

it's probably best if you take the dash top off as it will give you good acess to fit the hu and i pod link and the tweeters for the comps

I screwed my amp to sub box hasn't been a problem so far... Quick question when fitting the components do you have to drill the connector block to feed the wire through because i tried but didn't have a clue
