Bit of a lumpy start up, fueling?

Past few days my cup has felt a little bit lumpy on start up and seems really rich on the fuel at start, my mpg is now fine so was mabye thinking mabye fuel filter? Any ideas ?

They all run crap from cold, but you're saying its got worse in the last few days?

Fuel filter is in cased in the pump housing and doesn't need to be touched until 150k or so I believe.
