Bit of clarification on 182 (and cup)

  BMW 120i Sport

Just a quick question on the 182 and 182 with cup pack:

Is the cup suspension just lower and stiffer, or is the front track on the 182 cup pack wider as well? What would a 182 standard be like on, say, a set of eibach springs? Has anyone got this setup and compared it against a 182 with cup pack?

Im looking at a standard 182 at the moment, but id perhaps like to tighten the suspension up later on and I understand the 182 cup suspension cant be retro-fitted?

Does anyone have any pics of the 182 without the spoiler pack comparing against a 182 with the spoiler pack? Would be good to see the difference.

Additionally (last question!) has anyone driven both the 182 and 182 cup pack and can give an honest and objective opinion of them both?

Cheers!

mines 182 with cup suspension pack afaik its lower, wider and firmer over standard set up, and no cant be retro fitted, not properly anyway.

mines without the spoliers couldnt get them with the navigation, otherwise would have done. these can be retro fitted though I think.

without the spoiler pack its exactly the same as the 172 (non cup) look in the gallery lots of pics.

not driven a non cupped 182 yet, sorry. for the money you might aswell get the cup suspension pack from the off.

Big G, i m i right in thinking that you know it has a slightly different chamber and also better tyres with the cup pack also?

Unless its an import, i see absolutely no reason not to get the cup pack to be honest mate :)
Unless you cant stand the look of the Cup pack alloys ;)

Hiya... my 182 has both cup packs. Im sure im right in saying the suspension is 3mm lower, track is the same but ride is firmer. AND ofcoarse the better tyres on it (exalto 2)

The deeper cup spoiler on the roof looks so much better too, and the front spliter. imo.

I test drove both, and the car fitted with the cup pack certainly felt more sure footed, but not by miles. Worth the extra dosh tho.

What colour are you thinking of??

Yeah the Exalto2 tyres too.

Thing is, id probably be buying from a car supermarket so itll be imported - no cup suspension. However, I currently drive a Fiesta Zetec-S, and i didnt want a ride that was any stiffer than what im currently driving. I found the 182 with cup suspension too rigid and almost a little harsh in comparison to the Zetec-S. However, i dont wanna get a standard 182 and have it drive/feel like mush through corners either :).

Im thinking black or silver, although probably silver at the moment cos black shows up scratches and chips where as a silver car tends to hide them a lot better.

Also, where are the spoilers on the cup spoiler pack?! I can see that there is a thin black spoiler along the bottom of the front bumper, but where else?

If its imported you wont be able to get the spoiler kit or suspension kit.

THe cup spoiler sets it off in my opinion. How much is it with the car supermarket?

You can find uk ones from brokers for 11795 now. And you can have the cup packs then.
