Black Clio 182

  Clio 182
Day off work, nice day, why not do some work to my clio, so here is an update of what I have done so far :D

Here is what it looked like before, started taking the front bumper off, took ages as one of the screws had rusted away

Stop the healight washers from leaking by inserting some pipe between the 2 end headlight washer hoses

Finally the bumper off

A crack on the front top grille, bit of superglue will do the trick :approve:

Fog light cover will need a spray (Was going to peel the carbon fibre wrapping off, but it had been stuck to well, so i just painted over it :rasp: )

The spary painting begins! Couldn;t be bother to take off my bumper, so masking tape it was :p

You took the bumper off but left the bottom grill in to spray? The top grill just pops out.

I would of masked up the decals on the top grill too, looks much better imo.

cheers :D I think i read your comment that you wrote on another topic saying how the front grill doesn't come a standard black :/

Is that why you cracked it??

No it was cracked before :p I think the previous owner had the same problem removing the bumper too :p

Been having starting issues these past few months, so after having a read about, I decided to clean the Crankshaft Angle Sensor, or whatver you want to call it :p

Firstly the tools came out along with the air filter box

Airbox full of dirt and a few dead insects too :S

The two pipes with the blue tape around made getting to the sensor even more fiddly

Finally got it out :D

Well back again with a few updates
- Firstly my rear windscreen washer would not work. (The water was coming through the front washers when twisting the rear windscreen washer arm on the steering column). After using the "Search" function on here, I wasn't alone and got myself a new pump (Eventually the correct one).

- Secondly, I was having a read through the Fatty's Ktec induction alternative, so I decided to purchase it fit it. Came the other day and got it fitted to the car. Makes the car sound a bit like a scooby between 2000-3000rpm

- Thirdly, my lights have had a tendancy to randomly switch off. (not good when going down a country road and *Poof* no lights). A trip down to Hinckley for some new(ish) headlights and got them all sorted today.

Well after reading a little bit about needing a new washer pump, I ordered myself one from someone breaking a 172 (I think). It came 2 days after I Pm'd the guy. I got to work, took all the bits off only to find that I bought the wrong pump :/ Silly me, should have read more on the forums. The 182 has an "L" shape pump and not the straight down pump. Anyway finally got the correct one, and after again taking everything apart I got the new pump working

After reading about the Fatty's Induction alternative, I went a head and installed it. Been giving it some test runs and the roar it produces is very pleasing to the ears. I haven't yet noticed any loss of power, but then again Im enjoying that Scooby tone you get at 2000-3000rpm  As you can see in the picture, I might adjust the induction kit, slighty up more so i can attached it properly to the frame next to the battery.

To cut a long story short, my lights were crap... the previous owner had completely buggered them up. Cheap Ballasts, which aparently weren't connected to the main wire only to the small signal wire? (something like that anyway, I didn't understand what the garage told me). There were holes in the headlights mounts themselves and holes in the rubber covers that goes on the back of the bulbs. As i would need a whole new system (was coming to a figure of about £600, just for parts), ebay was the next option. Found a nice set of headlights, 1 brand new and 1 so very nearly brand new, the ballasts and 2 HID bulbs for £170 I guy named Ross from Hinckley (who I believe is on heer somewhere)... However this meant travelling, so Sunday night got myself a lift and we eventually got there. Today got them sprted out by the garage and everythign works like a treat with them

If you have read to here thank you for your time, if not, erm.... Im sorry?
