Black Cup, White Calipers?

Car  Black-Gold 182
Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had a Black Clio Cup (With the anthracite alloys) and had painted their callipers white? If so, would you be able to let me see some pics? I'm thinking of doing it myself, as have recently upgraded front discs to grooved rotors.

They'd be white for literally 5 mins, and calipers are a b*tch to clean at the best of times, let alone if theyre white.

Sorry, but daft idea methinks mate.

iv recently painted mine red n black, really wanted to go 4white but like matie said they wud b a b***h to clean!

No more of a b**ch then silver or yellow which are popular choices on here.

A spray with wheel cleaner when you do the wheels should be all it will need if you keep on top of it

I have to admit, I thought the same as you - surely white callipers can't be any more difficult to clean than yellow.

What paint can people reccomend for Callipers? Do they do specific ones, or can you use any high-heat paint?

I think that would look quite cool, wont be any more dificult to clean than red or yellow calipers.

Best stuff to use would be the Hammerite, I believe they even do a white smooth finish for using on radiators and such like. So that should work well, just check the heat resistance, should say on the back of the tin.

Well, i thought i'd give you an update. Decided to pursue the white caliper avenue, only to discover that Hammerite won't work - it's only rated to 100C, and calipers will run as high as 500C! You have to use specific VHT paint - and getting a tin of White VHT paint has proved impossible! They've loads of cans of the spray paint out there, but I didn't want to have to completly strip my calipers to paint them - wanted to paint them in situe.

Consequently, I'm going for Bright Silver, and I've got my black decals on order. My plan for the weekend is to paint and fit the decals.

Pictures to follow...

hammerite has always worked for me never had any problems with it on various cars ive had..as long as you clean the calipers of dirt and rust hammerite will look as good as any caliper paint..i have also used proper caliper paint(think its made by folio tech or something) the paint is mixed with a hardner and i didnt really see much differrence..

here is a pic of mine done with red hammerite been on for months and not had any peeling put on a new coat once thats all..

as for cleaning i use autoglym clean wheels..when using spray onto wheels and calipers and rinse off using pressure washer this removes alot of brake dust from the calipers aswell as wheels keeping them looking clean
