Black Mountain Pass *Picture Heavy*

So thought I'd make the most of the nice weather and went for a drive to the Black Mountain Pass (A4069) since it's supposedly one of the best roads (if not the best) in Wales...I'll let the pictures do the talking

Fantastic Road, although I'm still half tempted to say I prefer Elan Valley, but maybe it's because I'm more familiar with the roads, but this definitely wins for the views!

Also really hope there wasn't any speed cameras up there, as it's very easy to break the 40mph speed limit, and I did do it back and forth about 5 times I think lol

I was up there on Sunday cycling. It's a brilliant road, not taken the clio up there yet but I will at some point. I was gobsmacked when I saw the speed limit signs though!

That's when I was up there sorry, should of said! I was amazed at how many cyclists there were actually, but guess its a nice ride with some stunning views

The descent from the top into Llangadog is great fun on a bike! Very popular climb lol.

All the scenery were just a GoPro Black out the window! I was amazed by the quality since it's the first time I've used it for photos

Car shots were a Nikon D7100
Have you edited the GoPro shots? I have a Hero4 Silver and the pic quality does not come close to that. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know the differences if I'm honest, I'm sure this ones a 3+ Black - 10.1MP I think...

Yeh they're edited, albeit just a quick tweak in Lightroom. Possibly a Clarity/Sharpening edit which would help the quality, along with a highlight recovery to bring some lost detail back from the sky. Then just the standard exposure tweaks.

Love this car

Cheers Dan, means a lot!

I'm going there next week! What are the limits? 😧

Car looks great as ever James.
What day Dan?

It's virtually a 40 on all of the road, goes up to a 50 in places

It's pretty open so you should be able to see if any police/cameras, well I bloody hope so anyway!! Otherwise I'm in big big trouble

Just a heads up there's a couple of car parks which they could park in, so I'd take it steady the first time

And the rules for cameras are different in Wales iirc. They can hide them as much as possible, no rules on ensuring they're visible etc.

That looks such an awesome road to drive on (Clio looks spot on as normal too)........... living here in Norfolk, it's shall we say, a little flat! Defo no roads like that round here lol!
