Spent about 14hrs doing this last weekend

3 hrs removing decals
4 hrs cleaning and masking everything up/ removing some stuff

6hrs spraying (2 coats roughly every hour)
1 hour removing masking and replacing some parts

I love it, looks nice and mean, and good coverage in 99% of car, and everyone else seems to like

Not sure how it will wear, but intend to change colour every year or so- yellow or orange next up

That looks awesome. I'm wondering what matt AG would look like now :D

The matt is really nice effect- even better the colour can be changed pretty easy every year.

I really enjoyed doing it too, except removing 3 yr old decals with a hairdryer.....

Cleaning and prep is key

Not a huge fan, but can't fault the paint protection qualities.

Presume before next colour peel that layer off?

Can either peel off, clean the car, then re-apply alternative colour- or spray over

Does it just peel off. Is there a matt grey option.
My 159 would look the nuts matt grey. Ive got a compressor too 🤔

Yes- there is a matt grey

Just bought some blaze orange, blaze blue, and blaze green (Small amounts) so I can play around with the wheel colour- suggestions which colour 1st up?

Couple things to comment on since car was sparyed up over 6 weeks ago: The paintwork looked like it gets sort of "bruised" for a couple of weeks after, when touching or brushing past it, but some bruising can be brushed/wiped away, and other bruising can be sprayed with a light coating of aerosol. No major problems. After the 6 weeks the whole paintwork seems to have settled down, sort of flattened out even and looks even more matt than before- which is great

It seems to be holding up well on the peeleable away front. No sort of movement there.

I havent had the balls to wash it yet, bcos other than paying £10 pluse postage for the proper stuff, am a bit nervous to wash it with washing up liquid (Which is the recommendation) in case it gets ballsed up. not sure how to dry, cos of rough surface, other than dabbing with microfibre

Finally, i love the BLACK but I cant help planning my next colour change - also bcos i liked doing the work. But then I may regret moving away from Black. LOL.

Next Spring eh?

Yellow, orange, midnight blue, white (That been done?) green, bronze all being considered

Mind if I ask more about the tooling required?

I've looked into this before because some of the colour combos you can produce are absolutely awesome in my opinion, and as it's technically a temporary coating you can change the colour pretty fast, which for indecisive me is a bonus!

However on research it seemed like there was 'specialised' spray guns and compressors etc that all seem to be pushed by the manufacturers of the various rubberized spray coatings. Now to me they look nothing different (in some cases inferior to) a regular ol' spray gun?

Just wondering how you went about it! Looks great I think

All I can say is I bit the bullet and purchased a whole "small car kit" from these guys:

All in, bcos I upgraded to the earlex gun it cost about £240 with 8 litres of dip
When the kit arrived I wasn't that impressed, so supposed all the intricate stuff is in the nozzle and gun
Sprayed lovely. Cant fault the kit. I thought £240 for a reasonably well done DIY car colour change was pretty good. The fact it was matt was a bonus

Cant answer your question about if a regular gun will be able to evenly spread the dip- maybe their website will help

Yes- some of the colours are Fab!

NB: The reason I upgraded the gun was for "regular " use- so by using it again this weekend will see if it still works just as good
