Another small write up for CS, I wouldn't normally bother dependent on time but it was such an awesome car I had to take some pics. Sadly the afters are poor as the owner was in a rush to Sunday dinner!

3000 miles from new, a mass of options, HUD being very cool. Paintwork in decent condition but lacking a bit of gloss, at times this can be a colour problem, like Basalt Black on the Porsche blacks can sometimes be too shimmery imo, they lack the deep look of a jet black or one with less certain metallics in it.

Anyway usual process, g101 and smart wheels, Tradis, IX, Zaino soft clay (perfect for quite a new car). Apart from the Zaino clay it's a combo and one I haven't deviated from in a long time now!

Now either the 5 series has this issue or it's an M5 problem, etching on the bootlid where the water pools over time. The owner is less than impressed and it will come to a stage where the etching will become difficult to polish out.

CarPro reset and Supernatural sponge. Trying a lot of different shampoos just now!

Sheeting the water to try and avoid any contact with drying apparatus. Compressor and jet used for intricate areas once inside. The onlt real mark I could find was on the bonnet, seems to look deeper in the picture than it was.

Apologies about the lack of afters and shocking backdrop, time went against me. :( Bonnet shot was prior to any LSP and just after polishing.

Paint was polished with Menzerna 106fa and a mixture of pads. Glass sealed with CarPro Forte. Tyres with megs endurance and a spray of CarPro Perl, seems to spread so much better and give a great finish.
LSP was Zaino Z2 base and Britemax Vantage, wiiped down with Bouncer's Done & Dusted. The best QD on the market at the moment imo.

Thanks for taking the time to look in!

What a stunner, nice job there Kev! One thing I've noticed with this gen, they're quite understated (well exhausts aside) there are a few by me I never really noticed them, until they boot it.

Lovely job as usually Pat!

I like reset!

Surprisingly good for a nano friendly shampoo, gwash doesn't compare now. I fancy trying the new Cg v7 Gloss shampoo!

I thought the E60? Shape was very understated, neighbour had a grey one and it was very unassuming. The noise off this one is tremendous considering the last was a V10.

Great stuff gally, probably this or an RS6 would be my ultimate family bus.

Thanks mate. Great car.

Prefer the E60 because I can't get on with the newer BMW front end style, but I guess it's one of those things that in a few years will probably make all the older gen look really dated. Like the wheels mind.

Good job though.

Nice job, looks fantastic!

They sounded brutal when ever I've heard one hoof it up the road.

He really wanted black as he knew he was going to do small miles, dirt wasn't too big an issue... i'm still not sure I could own a new black car.

Bloody lovely.

When I was at Lloyd's on Saturday for the M3 service, the salesman was telling me a chap came in to the dealer in Carlisle and took out the new F80 M3 and the F10 M5. The guy said the M3 was a stunning car and so quick, but the M5 made it look like a piece of sh*t. Said it was phenomenal and so effortless. I was also shown a video of a guy doing 188mph in one on the bypass near where I live, and was told that a older guy from Hawick bought one and was doing between 180mph - 210mph on the motorway for 40 minutes constant and used a full tank of fuel in that time 😂 Mental case.

I looked at a new M5 and M3 in the showroom M section a few weeks back, the lad was very knowledgeable and I was very impressed but the difference in the 2 was big imo. Even the interior etc in the M5 felt a step up. You can get a Carbon roof on the M5? I swore the one in the showroom had one.

Yeah that was the other thing about the new M3 I noticed; the doors were so light! Like I wasn't even holding it. Everything was carbon.

I'll post some pics up later, as the thing was stunning in black. However, I reckon it would have been even more awesome in the baller spec Valencia Orange.

I followed a VO one soon after release and it was spanking, proper gleaming in the sun. Did they offer it on the M5?

Nope. Aside from the Monte Carlo blue and Silverstone, they're all pretty boring:

Having an M5 in a lairy colour kinda defeats the point of getting an M5 though, it should be understated. Nothing worse than when people get hold of them and badmanz them.

When people get them wrapped... :fearscream:
