Black Smoke (16v)

Just noticed the last couple of days the odd bit of smoke coming out the exhaust, and had it confirmed by a mate today.

Just a little puff of black smoke now and then, only when the revs are at the higher end lol.

Doesnt seem to be burning any more oil than normal at the moment.

What are the possible reasons for it?

Carbon deposits being blown out?

black = fuel
blue = oil
white = water

sounds like its either blowing some carbon out as Daz said or possibly overfuelling a bit. Can check by taking out a plug and seeing if its carboned up.

Ah cool, forgot oil was blue!

Not so worried if its fuel....enough gets chucked in lol!
