Ok, i found WhatsApp which allows you to message people which have the same app installed on their blackberry so that'll do the job for me.

Its ok if you want to talk to one person, i.e. girlfriend etc, but not many people use it on BB from what I've seen, might be easier to text or use msn these days. But try it out :s

I use whatsapp messenger (iphone to iphone). Really good for sending videos/photos for free.
