Bleed Nipple Size

I spent ages looking through the forum for the correct bleed nipple size/s on 172/82's but didn't find a definitive answer, so I wondered if anyone knows for sure? no random guesses please as thats all I found :rasp:

I'v sheared 2 of mine off if need be I'll buy a few and answer this myself, but I figured someone must know already?

Right 2 things, first the correct size for the front is a 7mm thread with an 8mm head, thats a defo, I BELIEVE the back is the same but as I couldny get the bugger out I canny confirm that.

The other thing (ironically) is a tip/suggestion for getting snapped/sheared bleed nipples off, it worked no problem on the front but the rear was/is well and truly stuck.

Anyway what you do is just put a spot weld on the sheared off nipple, then weld a nut or bolt to that and take it off, it might take a few trys but each time heats it up more and should help to crack it off, il post up a pic of what I mean later.

Also if anyone can confirm the nipple sizes are the same front and rear that would be great

Can't help you with the thread sizes off the top of my head unfortunately, but on my 172 Cup the rears were 7mm head... However - they didn't match left-right, so I don't think they are the standard ones!
