Blue 106 RallyE

  340i
Beware. It'll take up two full days at work reading it, but it's epic. Best build thread ever, imo.

As said, 106's have the exhaust mani on the front of the bay and inlet on the bulkhead side.

Some are the other way round, and the punto GT had them both on the same side - Crazy Italians

Aye I know some are (like Renaults), but most I've poked around the bay of tend to have the inlet on the left hand side of the engine when viewed from the cambelt. The Punto GT is reverse flow, was one of the ways earlier turbocharging was implemented.

Can someone explain why the throttle bodies are facing backwards? I'm not picking or anything I'm genuinely confused. Shouldn't they face the front of the bay?

flol sorry but that made me piss me pants.

epic build, he didnt start it tho did he? and i believe i bought my old rallye of the guy who had his old saxo was immense just so tidy sat in the guys garage.

Love that 106 - I was looking at them the other day, thinking I quite fancy one to run along side my Cup

Only thing i didnt like about 106's was the Pedals... Feels like you have to twist your legs to reach them properly.

  Disastra Coupe
You have to get used to the pedal position, becomes natural after a short while. Lewis' car is epic, just wish he'd hurry up with it lol.

the 106 is the only car i can heel and toe in properly teeny feet and pumps dont help lol

  FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU
I like these build threads but I don't like it when people can comment. It just fills the thread with repetitive comments.

I had a blue ph2 rallye for 7 months or so, ran 124hp on the 8v engine. An absolute riot to drive (martin_172 on here will vouch). It was stripped out, half cage, grp N exhaust, manifold decat etc, Advan A048's, bilsteins and faulkner race springs. Gutted when i sold it! On the plus side you can pick them up mega cheap now!
