Blue addiction 2

  Clio 172 Monaco blue
Hi guys, this is my first clio 172 and have previously had a 5gtt which I stripped and rebuilt and was just mental, couldn't afford to keep it due to circumstances beyond control.
i love the 172 and have had a few ideas since owning it for two months but would like to hear from anyone who has some thoughts on what's best for these;)
Going to upload a few photos and the car is not in great condition bodywork wise and has a few asda dinks over it!!!

Hope to hear from you soon and meet a few at local meets and CSS

Had a go at my headlights tonight and found some t-cut on a coarse cloth works pretty well but needs more time spent on them! Look hundred times better than they did but way off looking like new!! Happy with the results though, so far:)

Looks good Jules what other mods are you going to do.
Really not too sure, got a k and n panel filter on its way and would like to chrome most parts in engine bay, sort new brakes and poss coilovers, clear indicators and if you guys have any good ideas that would be great:)

Welcome Jules, loving this colour right now..
Thanks chi, rear bumper needs some tlc, previous owner has proper messed it up with something!! Had an old metro turbo that was slightly lighter blue but do like this colour if I'm honest:)

That what I was thinking when I was looking at it earlier, gave my headlights another t-cut and really looking good now, should see some nice subtle changes come payday:)

That's the only thing I don't know tbh, have tried to find out but no luck! What's the average quote to get that done? Have been quoted £590 so far
£590 by who and is that just for the cam & aux belts supplied & fitted.

That's all parts and labour, from a company called CT cars who I bought the car from, the specialise in Audi and vw, hmmm! Is that a too good a price? He's done them before on 172's

Don't no them but I would only take my car to a specialist on here you would be better putting a thread up and ask for someone around the surrey area that comes highly recommended if it was me £590 is a lot just for both belt kits supplied and fitted but I would get them done first before anything else .

thanks mar172, I think I will take your advice and do want it done for peace of mind, that way I know the history then.
out of interest what's the sort of dollar I would pay for belts and everything and to be fitted? Just so I have an idea.
Thanks for help mate, much appreciated

Oh, is that all!! May get that done sooner than I thought I could then:)
happy days  Thanks

Have been offered some 16" clio 172 wheels and tyres, for silly money, not sure if I should take off my 17's but I do need two tyres! Not sure what to do, any suggestions?

  Clio 172 Monaco blue
Chose not to go with those and now have some ideas on the project ahead. Going to keep the wheels, upgrade brakes and suspension, do all belts and mounts, strut brace front and rear, am going for a colour change resprayed too.
shall update as I go along:) or win the lottery it'll be a short thread!!

  Clio 172 Monaco blue
Rear discs and k&n on its way for £50 delivered, now looking for fronts with pads, oh and someone local to fit all brakes!!
By the end of the year, car should be just the way I want it!!

Nice colour, I really like it! Tyres are Yokohama Parada right?

Can you post a pic of the air filter? I am thinkin in order a new one or change to an induction air filter.

Am buying front and rear but just buying it all before I get someone to fit the lot, never fitted brakes and don't want to mess them
But the rear disc have bearings so if I was putting new rear discs I would have picked up a set with bearings and abs rings

That's why I ordered the discs with those included;-) not as green as I am cabbage looking!!

What's the best way to de-badge the rear, got a new design for the rear, if I pull it off right it should look pretty good:)
