I know what you mean though. TBH I sometimes wish mine was a bit more mild mannered, but I know I'd miss it if I bought a gayer car. Plus, in my defence, it actually needs the lairy exhaust to flow the power that it has.

The guy who makes my custom exhausts has just done a 3inch system for the Focus RS which is only 62db on tickover and 75db at 3krpm . It looks like an awesome bit of kit.

My 182 has it's standard exhaust - it's still chavvy.

It spent 1 year rolling around on red wheels - extra chavvy.

Am I a chav? No.

They are chavvy cars - deal with it. I own mine because it was silly cheap and a disposable car is a hell of a lot more fun.

I've owned everything from a £35 Renault 5, to a year old Focus ST - I can't say I've ever paid a moment's notice to what other people think of my car. It's a tool at the end of the day.
