I feel sorry for whoever was driver and passenger
in this car but hope it's nobody from here....

Investigations are under way after a man was killed in a road crash.

A Grampian Police spokesman said the collision involved one vehicle and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, just south of Whitecairns. The B999 road will be completely closed to allow a crash investigation to get under way and diversions have been put in place. The dead man has not yet been named by police.

I've seen a few crashed Clios but none as bad as that!

I wonder if it's a Cup without the ABS as a lot of them seem to have been involved in crashes.. you only have to look at the websites that sell crash-damaged cars!

Oh God please don't start with that. I'm sure just as many 172's have crashed with ABS, along with the thousands of other cars out there without ABS. It's how you drive the car that really counts.

To reply to the above poster - Of course it is largely down to how you drive any car, but the point is without ABS the car is that little bit harder to keep on the road. I don't think there is anyway you can argue against that.

Dont care what people say.. when it comes to it and the s**t hits the fan everyone will stamp on the breaks full force..

To be honest though it didnt say what the circumstances where so its more likely to be the cups twichy rear end that caught him out ! Traction control and ABS *MAY* have saved his life but until you know the full details you cant really say.

Why do people think ABS is a magic invulnerability device? I've never owned a car with ABS and (touch wood) I've never crashed any of them. All it does is help you steer while you brake, if you go into a corner at life losing speed all the ABS in the world still wont help you.

Just saw this on the Scottish news site but no name of the driver yet!

An 18-year-old passenger killed in a road crash in Aberdeenshire has been named by police. Shaun Eaton, from Mastrick in Aberdeen, was pronounced dead at the scene of the smash on the B999 on Saturday morning, just south of Whitecairns.

A lesson to us all to take care!
