BMC induction kit help

I know i have posted this onto the end of the BMC group buy but thought it might be better to stick a thread in here as well.I apologise in advance for a kind of double post.

Does the elbow which can be purchased separate reduce the length of the gap between the intake and the front slam panel as i cant get the tubing supplied with the kit to fit on the end of the filter and run down to the front bumper area as the gap is too small.Please correct me if im fitting wrong but at the moment i have an open end feed into the filter coming directly from the back of the radiator which is not really giving me cool air.Any pics or help from anyone who has one fitted to a 172ff mk2 would be grateful.

On the plus side,it sounds lovely,kinda reminds me of the old twin 40's sound on my old Mk1 XR2.It seems to lose the 5k kick as well.

Lose the 5k kick? Doesn't sound good :S.

Try removing the fuel rail and feeding it down that way, I think the aftermarket elbow helps a lot though.

Yes but it seems a lot smoother on the power and i hit the limiter in 2nd and 3rd without realising i was near it.Feels a little bit sluggish off the mark though but im hoping this is down to the fact im pulling in hot air from the back of the rad as appose to pulling cooler from nearer the front hence needing the tubing.

Matey.....how did you make the BMC stable? Did you use the support bracket? Having an fing mare fitting mine.
