Bodyshops - ARGHHHH!!!!

Ali

  V6, Trackhawk, GTS
Is it impossible to get anything done right the first time now a days!

Had the BM being sprayed this week. was supposed to take 3days. Took 4 and they were still washing it this morning!!!

Girl asked for payment, naturally said i wasn't happy to until i'd seen the car. Round she came. Looked great.

Walked around it, both skirts perfect, but there was a noticeable blemish on the bumper! I had the number plate holder removed and holes filled, but on one hole it was slighly sunk. Said i wasn't happy with it, given that the number plate wouldn't hide it. Guy got a bit arsey!

Give a f**k, when you're spending top dollar at the best Bodyshop in the city you expect perfection.

Anyway i agree'd to take it away, as i needed it. Got up to polish bliss to let him have a look, and the fcukin Washer jet cap had come off!!!

Trotted back to the bodyshop and booked it in for next wk!

So far not impressed! That said, it looks epic with no front plate, why can't we adopt the Yank law on front plates!

Well thats it. I'm happy to pay more for quality. Having never used this bodyshop before, i took polish bliss's recommendation. I'm holding them accountable, but it just annoys me that i've got to make another trip back up! Argh!

That said the 3-4 GT2's GT3's and Turbo's were incredible. Inside of the Techart 911 looked maxpower tho!

End of the day if you're paying top gold for it I'd expect perfection. Guy just arsey because he knows he's in the wrong and can't be arsed having to fix his mistakes.

Laura its pretty obvious he means the car.

My Dad sees this all the time. He quite often has to rectify other bodyshops repairs. Main dealers are the worst. If your paying top dollar you expect it to be right first time, however paint matching and repairs is an art, so I guess just as long as it's right in the end.

Quality doesn't come cheap.

Driver picked up a brand new Range Rover Sport from a customer for some maintence reason last week.

The guy subjectively said to the driver, "Do NOT wash it - I get it detailed!"

So the driver takes the car away, and returns it with a lift from my Dad to get back to the dealership end of the week.

The driver stands with the keys, my Dad in the other car, while he checks all over the car with a high intensity torch to check the paintwork.

The driver who had collected the car only booked the car into the wash que when he returned with it. Not only that but whoever drove into the wash bay missed the "DO NOT WASH" stuck to the center of the dash!

£300 later, the guy got his car back polished again by a private detailer.

Mistakes happen Ali, but it's whoever's mistake it was to pay for.

For sure Alex, it'll get sorted. But i wanted the car done for the weekend. It'll be decked on CSL's by sunday and a full detail! Now it's missing a washer jet and i can't put A13 LYR on till the bumpers done again! Pahhhh! Annoyin! £10 says i get busted before i get to glasgow with no front plate!

Give them there due the repair, the refit (Bar the washers) and the match is the best i've seen. I had my sun gun out too! lol!

Few years back, got my 106 qs repaired as someone had reversed into me.

just a crap on the front bumper anyways

drop it off in the morning and i get the courtosey car and then get a phone call at lunchtime that i can pick up my car, me thinking that was quick

so rush at lunch and picked it up

dont bother looking as i was in a mad rush and was going to check it when i got home.

Go to look at it a few hours later, the sods had washed the car and not even fixed it!

they didnt even realise it werent done till i rang them

and before u say it i know i was stupid not too look at it when i picked it up but i was young and im a girl

Hehe.. Thats pretty funny.. these things happen mind.. Got jacked in London about 2 years ago, car was taken (don't mess with a guy with a knife!) found the next day, bumper totally scuffed.. picked it up had it taken for repair, 3 days later delivered back and it looked like someone had T-Cut the dam thing.. what a mess.. clincher is.. I didn't notice until the morning as the car was delivered back at 10pm! Needless to say, she went back and returned looking pristine!

needless to say though, some people are impossible to please. at my old bodyshop, some guy had a red ka come in for a new front bumper and new front panel. bumper was taken off and front panel replaced, painted then the new front bumper was fitted (as it wasnt painted). we then delivered back to him where he was waiting with a screw driver ready to take the front bumper off to check that it had had a new front panel on. so we left him to it only to return to a phone call from him saying that he couldnt get the bumper back on as all the clips had broken (when he had taken it off) and was accusing us of not replacing them even though if we hadnt of replaced them, the bumper wouldnt have gone back on in the first place lol.
not saying your like that though ali, just saying some people expect more than perfection and dont realise that we are only human and not robots. but at the same time if you pay for a decent job, you should get one.

Hate when things like this happen really is down to laziness.
If i make a mistake at work or even get the slightest bit of grit or mark on the paint work i ll correct it, nothing goes out the shop unless I'm happy with the work.

Treat things as if they where your own tbh that's how i work i know i wouldn't like it if i had my car sprayed and there were bits of s**t etc in the paint.

^ 100% with you mate. i couldnt bring my self to send it out knowing its not to my standards

  tiTTy & SV650
Well thats fair and well if it's your bodyshop or you're the manager but if you have pressure from above telling you its OK to just send it out then you're standards will be compromised and you'll hate your job / manager.

Hope it gets sorted, you must spend a fortune on paint Ali.

Getting sorted next wk. Didn't bother polishing the bumper or nowt at the weekend! Also had a few feds looking over with no front plate. Looks so good without it tho!

Fucked it up again! Paint reacted last nite...(Excuse for they've not done it imo!) Now i've got a 1.2 corsa which did not make 60 in a 0-60 run and i'm positive the steering wheel is not connected to the actual wheels!!!

  e60 M5 -172- dciheid
not the greatest i had a quite shite experience with my bus and the paint reacted and has buffer trails over the bonnet. Pure gay.

Ali

Paint reaction is more of an excuse to the fact they've not done the work!! IMO!...Old man says it's a grand A excuse...(Said he's used it a few times when he was in the trade!)

  BMW 330ci Clubsport
I wouldnt expect it to be perfect after just 4 days.. 7-10 working days for absolute perfection would be about right in my opinion
