Bonnet chips!!

Following on from MAC3OLs topic regarding his jack etc... You said you had your bonnet painted.

With this in mind, after about 1-2 months of having my cup, i got quite a few big stone chips on my bonnet. has anyone else suffered from bad paintwork?

So, i took it to the nearest renault bodyshop who told me theyd have to send the info off to renault to check if it could be done under warranty. He said no, hed have to tell them theyre stone chips and renault wouldnt help out.

I wonder if anyone has any knowledge on this or past experience?

p.s. i know for a fact they shouldnt be like they are and ive had no more since (almost like the paint was still going off).

I have spent the last 4 months arguing about exactly this with Renault. My bonnet has literally 15 sizeable stone chips on, the first one appearing on day 2 of ownership and some 20 miles.

I have finally got Renault to agree to send their paint "specialist2 to meet me next week at a local dealer. Im quite fortunate as a friend had his 172 bonnet repainted for the same reason so if they try to fob me off I have his reports to throw back at them.

Its all about persistance. Renault initially tried to say all Clios suffer from stone chips and laugh it off. Its only because I have complained so much that I have got this far.

I thought i might have to keep pushing but due to my last car, and the problems i had, ive sort of given up on moaning (very very immensly long story invoving a ford focus!!). Silly really, i should give em sh*t.

I need 2 car park door dents sorting aswell, might get them all done at once.

my cars december 2001, theres quite a few chips, dont know if its an abnormal amount or not, if i took it up with renault would they do anything about it? its still under 3 year warrenty till december

you should see the size of my stone chips on my williams, theyre like golf balls :-(
